Who is the top dog now?!!

We had a great, if not slightly soggy weekend at Tredegar House for Caerphilly show. Lily was fit enough to compete again after a month off, and she was a bit excitable to say the least!! She was not really focusing in the 1st couple of classes as she was so glad to be back, but she came good in the end. Her legs were wrapped in pink bandage just to protect them, but she was fine.

Olli was brilliant!! Fern ran him for the first time at a KC show in the G3 jumping and got 12th out of 260 dogs!! Pushed Lily out of the placings too, as he was tighter and faster!

Saturday night was a blast as we took on the 48 weave challenge for charity and a bit of fun. Didn't expect either dog to complete it really as they have never done more than 12, but they both did it and Olli was faster again, completing 48 weaves in 11.5 seconds!! Lily better pull her socks up.

Sunday she did manage a 14th in grade 1 - 4 Collie sprint out of 252 dogs, so she's still got it, and I'm sure as her fitness returns she will be winning again.
It was my Birthday weekend too, and I had a lovely present from JoJo. A gorgeous silver ring with purple stones, my favourite colour. She managed 4 clears with little Miss consistent Jess, and bless Jed, even with a small hole in his ear (thanks to Lily) he too managed the 48 weave challenge!

Off to the Agility Club show this weekend, then a whole week at UKA Nationals, by which time both dogs should know what they're doing! What a fab summer we are having.

Bovey Tracey show.

Been a busy week and been worried to death all week about Lilys leg. It looked like it was going to turn bad again on Thursday, but since then I have kept it covered, and on the vets advice, salt water washes twice daily and I think finally its healed. She has been the model patient though. I couldn't wish for a more amenable dog, and cant wait to get her competing again!
Sunday after much deliberation I decided to go to the show and run just Olli. I was going to give it a miss as Lily still not fit, but thats not fair on Olli really, as he does try. I made a mistake in the G3 jumping and took him over a wrong jump. Not his fault at all as my position was way off, but he completed all the tricky stuff, including a rear cross AND flying in to his 12 weaves and doing them perfectly so I was pleased. In the Agility he did a lovely round, thought about his contacts, did his weaves and had a lovely clear round, placed 8th out of 108 dogs! So it was well worth going. Lily came for the ride and I think she was pleased with her mate too!

Off on Wednesday this week as its my birthday, then off to Caerphilly Friday and providing we get the ok from the Vet, Lily will be running!!!
I cant wait!!

Tuffley weekend.

A beautiful venue, a lovely show but one I will try to forget.
Poor Lily had to have a second operation to try and fix the hash that was made of the 1st one on her dew claws, so she was on lead walking and a spectator this weekend. I still ran Olli but apart from 2 pretty good runs with 5 faults in each, the rest of the weekend he was not very focused. May have been because my heart wasn't in it as I was so upset & worried about Lily, so I will not blame him completely, but it made me stressy so I apologise to people I was with for being a miserable cow. I just hope Lil recovers soon and is back on track.

The place was very pretty, in the grounds of Berkeley Castle, and I look forward to next year. We were also treated to a balloon festival a few fields away, which was quite a sight in the evening sun.

Not much else to say but big hugs to Lily Fudge and hope my little soul mate is feeling better soon.
